Hey, a friend of mine (Ben T.) and I are thinking of creating a handful of podcast episodes to talk about taking the plunge into self-employment, independent consulting and finding the right fit of activities to fulfill your personal and professional goals. What are your current challenges or topics that you'd like to hear about that we could discuss? We would rather hear from people in our network and their challenges than make assumptions, so send them our way! Comments or DM's appreciated!

Any professional service agency owners use a CRM system? Are you happy with it? Currently shopping options...

Do any self-employed service providers that run small agencies (law, financial mgmt, consulting, PR, graphic design) have any recommendations on how to take your professional contacts on various platforms and add them into a common database/CRM database? I'm finding channel management is getting unwiedly. Zoho seems to be in the lead (but Can it do both contact and opportunity in kanban elegantly? The reviews are not encouraging) Pipedrive seems to rate well, but I question integrations with LinkedIn via a third party (Zapier) which adds both technical and financial risk. Finally, Hubspot is crazy expensive for a single person plus subcontractors. Are there others that work for single-person/small team agencies? Or should I build my own master database in Google Sheets or Airtable first and then upload those to each platform and see for myself under a free trial? Any experiences or recommendations?
