A spark of an idea came to me months ago “If Alexa uses sound waves, why can’t we do the same with our brain waves?” I took a leap with this idea, promising myself I would give every free moment I had to make this far-out idea a reality through research, experimentation, and learning. With an EEG built and my minimal software system ready, I finally watched as my thoughts controlled the devices in my home. A vision of the potential fueled me onward. The project quickly scaled into a large, multi-disciplined project, nūrio. The next months I built a complex mobile app and #cloudcomputing architecture, created new #artificialintelligence methods, designed circuits, soldered for hours, tirelessly iterated CAD models to 3D print, and developed a website and content to set my invention free. nūrio is one of the smallest EEG devices with a mobile app to visualize mental activity/health, plus a streamlined cloud to route mental commands to any #IoT device. The system provides anyone regardless of ability, language or environment the ability to control their connected world. By leveraging this power within us, we can truly expand human potential.
