Protip: the first few times, use a treadmill, elliptical, bike, whatever cardio equipment you want, and just hang out on that for a little while. Often, they're organized so you can see all the other machines while you do cardio, and it's a great way to get some movement in while you learn the layout of the gym or how different machines work. Do this as often and as long as you want until you feel ready to venture into machines and weights.
