The Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC) is a state agency in New York, United States that was created to help make higher education more accessible and affordable for New York residents. HESC provides 28 financial aid programs and services, including grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study opportunities, to help students and families pay for college. In addition to providing financial aid, HESC also offers other services to support students and families throughout the college planning and application process. This includes providing information about colleges and universities, advising students on their college choices, and offering tools and resources to help students and families plan and pay for college. HESC is also responsible for administering the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP), which is the largest state-based grant program in the country, providing billions of dollars in assistance to New York residents each year.
