Congratulations to our most recent DAISY recipient at UHS, Aly Fish! The DAISY Award is an international recognition program started by The DAISY Foundation that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day. The ICU nurse was nominated by a family member of a patient she cared for. In the nomination letter, the family member spoke about the exceptional dedication and care they received from Aly during a profoundly challenging time for their family. The letter went on to talk about how their son experienced a serious spinal cord injury, and from the moment they met Aly, her compassion and professionalism shone through. She consistently went above and beyond her duties, not only in administering medical care but also in providing emotional support to both their son and family. During overnight shifts, Aly took the time to listen to their son and relate to him, helping make a vulnerable situation less scary and alone feeling.   Thank you Aly for truly displaying what a tireless, devoted and passionate nurse can do, and the impact they can have on their patients and families!
