It was a historic day in Oakdale Tuesday as City staff and officials celebrated the official ground breaking of the new Public Works facility at 3200 Granada Avenue N! Members of the project team including Kraus-Anderson Construction and Hagen, Christensen and McIlwain Architects, as well as representatives from 3M, were also in attendance. Construction on the facility is underway, and it is expected to open in Fall 2025.

Monday afternoon City staff and officials toured the Norhart building which is nearing completion by the future Metro Gold Line BRT Helmo Station off of 4th Street N. The apartment building will have 328 residential units, some which are now being leased. It also features retail space that includes the Ember and Bean Coffee shop which is expected to open in mid-October.

City staff and officials recently wrapped up this year's Business Retention, Expansion and Attraction (BREA) program with a final visit to LA Fitness in Oakdale. Thanks to all of the outstanding businesses that hosted visits this year to help further City relationships with our business community. A special thanks also goes to the Oakdale Area Chamber of Commerce and the St. Paul Area Chamber for supporting this important initiative!

At Tuesday's meeting, the City Council recognized Noah Her for his service as an Oakdale City Council Member. Council Member Her was appointed on March 28, 2023 and served as the Council Liaison to the Economic Development Commission, has helped further several community development projects, and has thoughtfully engaged with the community during his time on the Council. He will fulfill his duties through September 30. Thank you, Noah, for your dedication and service to the City of Oakdale!
