About us

A leading physician organization in Southeast Michigan founded in early 1990 Oakland Physician Network Services, Inc. is an Independent Physician Organization known as OPNS. In 2005 OPNS established the wholly owned subsidiary OPNS Enterprises, LLC (OPNS-E) to pursue additional investment and service opportunities. This is the OPNS entity that owns & manages the Multi Employer Welfare Association (MEWA) Physician Direct that provides health insurance for over 3000 doctors, their employees and families and is still growing as well as the two Assumed Names of Physician Direct Accountable Care Organization (PDACO) & Physician Direct Organized System of Care (PDOSC) who share a TPA license for services provided to BCBSM & CMS. The BCBSM OSC has been operating for several years and PDACO acquired 8000 patients in January 2014. Operations were once mainly focused on obtaining and managing contracts for physicians with Health Plans usually with some form of risk incorporated but for the recent past we have transitioned to mostly upside only risk and the business has been focused on building economies of scale infrastructure and creating quality outcomes for patients through proactive Patient Centered management.

Updates

  • A yearly visit to the doctor’s office can provide a variety of benefits; developing or updating a tailored health treatment plan for patients and focusing on improving well-being based on symptoms and behaviors. From a practice standpoint, there is also the benefit of maintaining/updating the patient’s profile, reviewing medications, treatments/medications and adjusting as needed. - Dr. Imad Mansoor

  • MI-POST Forms Now Available Attention PCPs and Specialist Office Managers! OPNS is offering to interested offices a limited supply of pre-printed MI-POST (Michigan Physician Orders for Scope of Treatment) forms, the accompanying MI-POST Patient and Family Information Sheets and state Guidelines for using them.    MI-POST is a set of Medical Orders that document patient decisions during a health care crisis and can be followed by health care facilities and first responders in the state. Typically, this form is activated when patients are in the last year of life and are often not able to speak for themselves. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to obtain these pre-printed forms and user aids. Contact Beverly Walters RN at bwalters@opns.org to order your supply today.
