Many fans of Rand have only a vague understanding of its principles; consequently, they can’t tap into the full power of the ideas to make their lives magnificent. Don’t stay there! Leonard Peikoff’s course “Understanding Objectivism” is designed to provide you with a deep understanding of the ideas. And systematically discussing the lectures with OSI fellow Martin Hooss and a small group of critical thinkers will enable you to integrate the ideas even more effectively—and put them to immediate use in your life. This listening group begins November 7. If you’re 29 or younger, you can apply for a scholarship. Link in the comments below 👇

“First, think. Second, dream. Third, believe. And finally, dare.” This was Walt Disney’s advice. And he took it—which is why his dreams became reality. Are you thinking, dreaming, believing, daring? Could you improve in these areas? What would happen if you did? Come find out at LevelUp 2025: Ideas for Thriving LevelUp 2025 will be held July 16–19 in Orlando, Florida, at the gorgeous Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace. This beautiful resort is across the street from Disney Springs—with dozens of restaurants and shops, and entertainment galore (House of Blues, Cirque du Soleil, etc.)—and just a short drive from Disney World, EPCOT Center, and Universal Studios. Speakers and the program will be announced soon—stay tuned. Please Note: This year, to foster a deeply personal and engaging experience, we are limiting LevelUp attendance to 300 people—and scholarships to 100. So don’t wait! Reserve your spot today for the most life-enhancing conference of the year—and save 50% with early-bird pricing: https://lnkd.in/g9ijuRZ7 Think—dream—believe—dare. See you there! OSI Team 💙

"I journal a lot. Across all my journals, I’ve written at least seven-hundred and fifty thousand words. From the many avid journalists I’ve spoken to, a common practice is to write, shut the journal, and never look at it again. But, this is a mistake in my opinion. There’s a ton of self-improvement to be found in reading your entries." Read OSI fellow Maddox Locher new Substack 👇 https://lnkd.in/dCMF-zEs

How can we know what’s true and false? Good and bad? How we should and shouldn’t act? What principles should govern human relationships, societies, and governments? 🤔 In Philosophy: Who Needs It, Ayn Rand argues that everyone has ideas about such crucial questions. In other words, everyone has a philosophy. And everyone refers to this philosophy—implicitly or explicitly—when making choices and taking actions. And so, philosophy is inescapable. Our choice is not whether to have one, but whether to think through our philosophy rationally—or to accept the dominant philosophic ideas of the culture by default. Come mine this rich book for all its philosophic gold, and learn to apply its ideas to live a happier life. Your instructor will be Angelica Walker-Werth, and classes begin October 30. If you’re 29 or younger, you can apply for a scholarship. Link in the comments below 👇

Your kid isn't bad at learning. School is just failing at teaching and ends up killing his natural curiosity to learn. Let's encourage and nurture children's ability to use their own minds to actualize their own potential. Let's inspire their curiosity and love for learning. Let's start educating children rationally.

Objective Standard Institute reposted this
I’ve launched a Substack titled “Thinking in Principles: Conceptual Tools for Loving Life and Advancing Liberty.” In my first post, I explore a range of conceptual fallacies—package-deals, anti-concepts, frozen abstractions, floating abstractions, and stolen concepts—while illuminating the principles they violate. It’s a living document, which I’ll refine and expand with additional examples over time. I hope you enjoy the first post. And be sure to subscribe for new posts and updates!
