Breaking news! The Bureau of Land Management and Biden Administration just announced the final decision to permanently protect 28 million acres of public lands in Alaska known as Alaska's D-1 lands. We are incredibly proud of the leadership role we played over the last three years in this campaign. Congratulations to our members, grantees, and partners! This is a huge win because: ✅ Over 140 Alaska tribes called for this decision because ensuring protections remain in place will support the possibility of co-management of this land. ✅ Protecting this landscape will prevent more than 600 million tons of carbon dioxide from being released. ✅ Alaska’s outdoor recreation economy accounts for $2.6 billion and 20,000 jobs annually and it depends on access to intact public lands. Last week, the Oboz team gathered together to celebrate our fiscal year end! The day was filled with department wins, awards, a little competition and a whole lot of fun! Montana is our home and there is no better place to celebrate than in the heart of the mountains!⛰️ More to come with another bright year ahead! 🥾

Over the weekend, we welcomed and supported the grand opening of Marshall Mountain, Missoula's newest community space! Last year, our partners at The Conservation Alliance helped grant funds to secure this public land ownership, ensuring the preservation of this land and ongoing recreational opportunities for the community!
