Just a second reminder...happening this Wednesday:
Announcing our July program meeting "Systems and software for averting an enegry crisis" presented by Bill Gervasi of Wolley Inc. on Wednesday the 17th at 7 pm in Irvine, CA. Doors open at 6:30 pm for networking before the meeting. This meeting will be held at the Knobbe Martens' Irvine offices and is co-sponsored by IEEE Orange County Computer Society, SIGAI OC, the IEEE OC Solid-State Circuit Society (SSCS), and the Los Angeles Chapter of the ACM. Parking validation will be provided to attendees. Per a recent Forbes article, "The rise of generative AI and surging GPU shipments is causing data centers to scale from tens of thousands to 100,000-plus accelerators, shifting the emphasis to power as a mission-critical problem to solve." making this talk particularly relevant. For those who were unable to attend last night's program meeting "Dynamic distributed computing for autonomous vehicles in 5G infrastructures" presented by Dr Marco Levorato of UC Irvine Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences, a recording is now available: https://lnkd.in/gshDgpRH NOTE: due to low power on one of our microphones during the presentation, short, occasional bursts of loud static were generated on the initial recording between about 00:47:00 and 01:02:00. We've attempted to clip out these parts, so you may see some jumps in the video, but we would still exercise caution with your volume setting if listening with headphones. We apologize for any inconvenience. #distributedcomputing #autonomousvehicles #5G #neuralnetworks
