  • This #SuicideAwarenessMonth, take steps toward healing. If you’re facing depression or suicidal thoughts, talk to someone you know and trust. Creating a safety plan with a mental health professional can provide structure and hope. Remember, reaching out is a sign of strength – help is available and you don’t have to struggle alone. If you or someone you know is in imminent danger, please contact 911 or your local hospital. • New Jersey Juvenile Detention Association Conference recap! This week our staff had the amazing opportunity to present at the NJJDA Conference in Atlantic City. Tara Boyle (Care Manager Supervisor), Liz Menges (Chief Operating Officer), Richelle Corbo (Care Manager Supervisor), and Kaitlin Lord (Community Resource & Social Media Specialist) presented a “Working with the LGBTQ+ Community” training. Additionally, Melinda Santiago-Owens (Care Manager Supervisor), Sean Giarratana (Care Manager Supervisor), and Liz Menges provided a “The Lens Through Which You See Youth with Intellectual and Developmental Needs” training. We want to thank the NJJDA for this incredible opportunity, along with Shelby Vorhees (Youth Services Commission Administrator) for coordinating! Great job to Team OPC on providing inclusive and informative trainings for the community, while highlighting the unique needs of the youth and families in which we serve! 💙
