    Deputy Program Manager, Social Responsibility

Really excited to be working with Ocean Outcomes, ABALOBI, and International Pole & Line Foundation (IPNLF) in this pilot project demonstrate how the FIP model can become more inclusive of fishers. This project builds off of lessons learned from the implementation of the FisheryProgress Human Rights and Social Responsibility Policy, with the goal to co-create a user-friendly toolkit to more effectively engage fishers.

FisheryProgress is excited to announce a new pilot project with three key FIPs that aims to deepen the impact of the HRSR Policy through robust fisher engagement. These FIPs span unique geographies and cover a range of fisheries, from large scale commercial to artisanal. Our hope is that outcomes from this project will serve as a model for other FIPs, and that we will have codesigned resources and tools to share broadly across the sustainable seafood sector. "As we support the implementation of electronic monitoring systems in Taiwan's tuna industry, this technology will bring significant benefits. It will enhance transparency, ensure compliance with international standards, and ultimately contribute to the sustainability and profitability of our fisheries. This is a crucial step towards a more responsible and forward-thinking approach to marine resource management." - Ho-Tu Chiang, Asia Fishery Improvement Manager.
