We had such an incredible turnout at our last week's chart share with the Standard Celeration Society -- with so many brilliant educators coming together to share their invaluable knowledge and expertise! 🙌 From seasoned chart sharers to first-timers, we had so many great shares that led to insightful discussions on teaching things like math facts, segmenting words into sounds, reading passages, and relational language! Coming together in a judgment-free zone allowed us to learn from and inspire each other in such a meaningful way. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us! Octave is partnering with The Standard Celeration Society to cohost another FREE, open Chart Share event on Wednesday, August 28th, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM EST, focusing on one of our favorite topics—teaching and learning academic skills! As you may know, Precision Teachers have been using standardized charts for decades to measure and enhance learning progress and outcomes. This event will be a fantastic opportunity for our community of practitioners to: ➡ Present our own charts and receive feedback from peers ➡ See new examples of charts tracking diverse academic skills ➡ Discover and learn new techniques for data collection and analysis ➡ Network with fellow educators who are passionate about evidence-based practices and the charts. Do you know Nicola (Nicky) Schneider? We believe you should! Nicky Schneider is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with nearly 20 years of experience working with vulnerable individuals of all ages and skill levels. She is also the owner of NRS Compassionate Behavior Services, LLC. Nicky has a bachelor’s degree in special education and a master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis. Additionally, Nicky completed a post-master’s certificate program in Educational Administration. Nicky holds NJ Department of Education certifications as a special education teacher, supervisor and principal. Nicky has served as a special education teacher, behavior analyst and supervisor in private and public schools, as well as for insurance-based agencies. She has extensive experience implementing assent-based instruction models in a classroom, as well as developing assent-based trauma-informed training protocols for staff in complex group settings. On the administrative side, Nicky created district-wide crisis planning guides and protocols, referral and support systems, and set up assent-based classrooms for learners with social-emotional and behavioral challenges. Nicky’s passion lies in empowering those she trains to encourage, support and learn from the individuals they serve. She believes that through genuine interaction, we can intrinsically create a foundation of mutual respect and cooperation.
