In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, #DenisonJobCorps’ Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA) students took the initiative to give back in a meaningful way. These students’ set-up an informative booth on campus where they provided educational materials on detecting both breast and testicular cancers. Their goal was to raise awareness and empower everyone with essential knowledge about early detection. One highlight from the day: we captured a special moment where one of our CMA students spoke with our food services supervisor, a breast cancer survivor herself, sharing tips and support. It was a truly inspiring exchange that showcased the heart of this project. #DenisonJobCorps #BreastCancerAwareness #MakingaDifference #JobCorpsWorks

Sibling duo Bobby and Arrianna recently received their high school diplomas at #PittsburghJobCorps. Arrianna shared, "I'm happy that I was able to get my diploma here. I was able to graduate earlier than I would've at my high school. I have my high school diploma and I’m working towards my career and I'm only 16!" Bobby agreed, saying that it was "easier and faster to get my diploma and be finished with it. I didn't want to go to high school for four years." Congratulations to Bobby and Arrianna on gaining their high school diplomas! Both siblings are currently studying in Security and Protective Services! #PittsburghJobCorps #HighSchoolDiploma #JobCorpsWorks #CareersBeginHere

At #PinellasCountyJobCorps we truly believe in helping our community! Check out this social media post from Kathy Prather Bixter from the Gulfport Lions Club: “This group of Job Corps students from St Pete led by Jill Hussung showed up in a bus to help us do so many tasks that had to be done. They were a godsend from prayers being answered. These students worked tirelessly when our energies were fading and our reality was overwhelming, they were able to take charge of so many tasks we faced with a smile and “can do” positive attitude. There wasn’t a task that they would not take on. They also brought masks and water to help accomplish their tasks and would always come ask to do more when finished with each one. We made a great dent in what was a daunting task and asked if they could help with tasks in our fundraisers in the future. It was so nice to talk with these young women and men about the Lion's mission to make a positive role of giving back to the communities that we live in and internationally as well. Many thanks and well wishes for your futures. I believe in every one of you accomplishing great futures. We still have a very long road ahead and will have many more days at the club getting things accomplished and getting more out to the trash before the Foundation can get back to raising funds to give to many charities and to our community. We would welcome these great young people back at any time. You gave us hope in a time of despair.” Way to go Job Corps! #PinellasCountyJobCorps #CommunityService #MakingaDifference #JobCorpsWorks

The #DenisonJobCorps Student Government Association (SGA) hosted a car wash fundraiser for staff, and it was a huge hit! Staff members were lined up, eager to get their cars scrubbed and shined—all while supporting our students. And the best part? Every dollar raised is going straight into the SGA fund to bring more fun and memorable activities to campus for our students. Check out the photo of staff waiting in line to get their cars squeaky clean! We’re all looking forward to the exciting events these funds will help create. #DenisonJobCorps #CarWash #StudentGovernmentAssociation #JobCorpsWorks

With less than a month to the 2024 elections, the NAACP came to #OldDominionJobCorps campus to help our students register to vote. The registration team helped get the information needed for our students who live out of the area, and they were very informative about how everything works with registration. The team was very bipartisan in their edification of the process. Thank you, NAACP, for your help with this process. #OldDominionJobCorps #VoterRegistration #2024Elections #NAACP #JobCorpsWorks

Recently, #PittsburghJobCorps hosted a touring session with local school counselors to demonstrate the services Cougar Nation has to offer. Culinary students Hezekiah and Cornel had the opportunity to cater lunch for the visitors by preparing small bites. Cornell says that he enjoys his Culinary classes because he gets the opportunity to be creative with food and express himself. After he completes his trade, Cornell is considering continuing on through the College Sponsorship program where he would study Hospitality Management. #PittsburghJobCorps #StudentSuccess #SuccessStory #CareersBeginHere #JobCorpsWorks

Crafting to Make a Difference 🎀 At #AlbuquerqueJob Corps, our Youth to Youth (Y2Y) and Student Government Association (SGA) groups organized a unique event dedicated to spreading awareness about breast cancer. The students gathered at the SGA lounge for a session filled with creativity and camaraderie, where they created bracelets as a tribute to those impacted by breast cancer. Thanks to all those who participated in helping spread awareness and demonstrating solidarity for such an important cause. Big congratulations to #DenisonJobCorps carpentry students for earning the ‘Trade of the Month’ Award! This honor goes to the trade that made the biggest improvement in their overall performance, and carpentry absolutely nailed it (pun definitely intended)! This award, introduced by our new Education and Training Director, is all about recognizing the hard work and dedication of our students. It’s not just about progress—it’s also about celebrating the passion and effort that our carpentry team brings every day. And, of course, let’s not forget the bragging rights that come with it. Well earned, carpentry! We can’t wait to see what you accomplish next, and we look forward to seeing who gets this trophy next month! #DenisonJobCorps #Carpentry #SuccessStory #JobCorpsWorks #CareersBeginHere
