Today, we are spotlighting SMSgt Kiley Combs, an Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom Veteran who served in the United States Air Force from February 2000 to October 2021 and is currently a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst in Odyssey’s SOF/PR and Special Warfare efforts. During her tenure, Kiley served in Japan, Nevada, Michigan, Germany, California, and Ohio, with numerous deployments in support of contingency operations. Kiley feels very blessed to have met friends throughout the world that she now considers family. This camaraderie has impacted her life and has been missed since retiring. Kiley’s advice to members currently or planning to transition from the military is to have a plan. Make sure that you are looking at the job market and taking note of certifications or requirements that will make you look more appealing to employers. It is important to link up with other retired military to seek advice and go over your plan; this strategy helped her transition from military to civilian life. Kiley credits her smooth transition from advice from her mentors while assigned to Beale Air Force Base and the National Air and Space Intelligence Center. Odyssey thanks Kiley for her service and all the fantastic work she has done for Odyssey! #WeAreOdyssey #OdysseySystems

Odyssey would like to recognize Sahara Gooding, Clinical Research Coordinator, for her work supporting the Clinical Investigations Department (CID) at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP). Sahara was commended by one of her Principal Investigators (PIs) for her consistent check-ins to ensure excellent subject recruitment and study transition once the PI changed work locations. In addition, Sahara created new systems for the current consent process and folder collection, which eliminated the high volume of paperwork for subjects. We are extremely grateful for Sahara’s support and hard work and thank her for being such a valued Odyssey team member! #WeAreOdyssey #OdysseySystems

It’s always motivating to see the operational impacts the Odyssey team has on the SDA mission. Our team is at the center of acquiring, developing and sustaining GEODSS and many other SDA technologies. “The GEODSS systems play a vital role in tracking deep space objects. More than 2,500 objects, including geostationary communication satellites, are in deep space orbits varying in altitude from 10,000 to 45,000 kilometers from Earth. These telescopes can detect objects 10,000 times dimmer than the human eye can see.” #PowerYourPurpose #TeamOdyssey

The United States Space Force Space Operations Command’s 15th Space Surveillance Squadron hosted British, Australian, and Canadian service members and space experts for a tour of the Maui Space Surveillance Complex on Maui, Hawaii, on Sept. 17, 2024. The tour offered U.S. allies a unique glimpse into the Space Domain Awareness operations and research and development at this strategic location. Ally and partner integration is essential to strengthening resilience in the face of current threats in space and affecting the joint force. The service continues to review programs and reconsider classification of information and operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners.
