Investing in America's Energy Future
About us
The U.S. Department of Energy’s Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains (MESC) office is leading the way in strengthening and securing manufacturing and energy supply chains essential to modernizing America’s energy infrastructure and supporting a clean and equitable energy transition. We prioritize promoting innovation across U.S. manufacturing and energy supply chains to drive the creation of new technological advancements and create new workforce opportunities. MESC focuses on supporting and advancing the nation's manufacturing capabilities and energy supply chains. We’re helping address supply chain vulnerabilities and targeting identified areas of opportunities for investment through the Biden Administration’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) funding, the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) funding, and the Defense Production Act (DPA). MESC supports $20 billion in programs that further these goals.

📢Don't leave 💲money on the table... If you purchased an extended product system, like motors with variable speed drives and controls, between January 2021 and September 2023, you may be eligible to apply for the Extended Product Systems Rebates (EPS) Program through the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The EPS Rebate program was expanded to include qualifying systems other than #pumps, #fans and #aircompressors, such as extended products installed as part of larger equipment packages (e.g., #HVAC systems and #heatpumps); and extended product systems installed with VFD-controlled motor types (e.g., extruders). 🔎Visit https://lnkd.in/ebHqkeR6 to learn more about this ♻ #cleanenergy rebate program and how to apply. #EnergyEfficiency #supplychain

Built nearly 100 years ago, the Hoover Dam is a hallmark of big and bold action in the U.S. We invested in America then and, under the Biden-Harris Administration, we’re investing in America now. By 2030, we expect to add the equivalent of over 300 Hoover Dams-worth of clean energy to our grid.

Yesterday, Office of Infrastructure, U.S. Department of Energy's Under Secretary Crane joined leadership from Cummins and the Mayor of Columbus, Indiana, to announce $150 million – in combined public and private investment – for the company's Columbus Engine Plant. Part of a $1.7 billion, eight-state investment in the future of American auto manufacturing, Cummins will convert their Columbus facility to manufacture zero-emissions components and electric powertrain systems. The Under Secretary underscored that this funding, made possible by President Biden’s Investing in America agenda and administered by DOE Manufacturing & Energy Supply Chains Office (MESC), is supporting American communities and the union workers who have driven the auto industry for generations – including the Diesel Workers Union and Office Committee Union at Cummins. Expected to add approximately 250 new, high-quality jobs in addition to retaining existing positions, this project highlights what Investing in America is all about. 📰: https://lnkd.in/gfZjiPdU
