Batteries 🔋 power so much of our everyday lives, from the phones in our hands to the cars we drive to the energy that powers our homes and businesses. Building a domestic supply chain for batteries is critical to ensuring a stable, reliable energy future for America. That is why @MESC-DOE is proud to announce over $3 billion for 25 projects across 14 states! These projects will help boost domestic production of advanced batteries and battery materials. This isn’t just good news for our day-to-day energy resilience—it’s also good for the American workforce. At full scale, these projects will generate 8,000 new construction jobs and over 4,000 new operating jobs. Now that’s how you (em)power the future! Investing in America's Energy Future
About us
The U.S. Department of Energy’s Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains (MESC) office is leading the way in strengthening and securing manufacturing and energy supply chains essential to modernizing America’s energy infrastructure and supporting a clean and equitable energy transition. We prioritize promoting innovation across U.S. manufacturing and energy supply chains to drive the creation of new technological advancements and create new workforce opportunities. MESC focuses on supporting and advancing the nation's manufacturing capabilities and energy supply chains. We’re helping address supply chain vulnerabilities and targeting identified areas of opportunities for investment through the Biden Administration’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) funding, the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) funding, and the Defense Production Act (DPA). MESC supports $20 billion in programs that further these goals.

Earlier this week, Team MESC helped kicked off #ClimateWeekNYC at the Nasdaq Exchange Opening Bell where they had one clear message to relay — “manufacturing renaissance.” Under the Biden-Harris administration, private companies have announced plans for more than 800 new or expanded clean energy factories. Thanks to funding from the #BipartisanInfrastructureLaw and #InflationReductionAct, MESC is helping increase that momentum. Just last week we announced over $3 billion for 25 selected projects across 14 states to boost the domestic production of advanced batteries and battery materials nationwide. Through the Battery Materials Processing and Battery Manufacturing and Recycling Programs, MESC is generating $16 billion in total investment for battery manufacturing and recycling. Read the full announcement below and stay tuned for more updates from Climate Week. https://lnkd.in/eqUs8aB8 Photos courtesy of Nasdaq.
