Today, Secretary Lowman hosted a fireside chat alongside LTG Mark Simerly, Director, DLA; LTG Heidi Hoyle, Army G4; and Mr. Anthony Baity, Director of Resource Integration, AF A4. Collectively, these Joint Logistics Enterprise teammates highlighted efforts underway to support the National Defense Strategy’s directive to Build and Maintain a Resilient Joint Force Ecosystem. What is very clear is that we must: 1. Increase our capability to satisfy demand closer to the point of need. 2. Strengthen our interoperability and co-sustainment opportunities with allies and partners. 3. Continue to increase the use of data at all echelons to inform data enabled decision making enhancing predictive sustainment capabilities. 40 years ago, Secretary Lowman stood on the yellow footprints at Parris Island as a young Marine Recruit. Today, August 6, he provided keynote remarks to the Association of Marine Corps Logisticians in one of his last official events as ASD-S. Secretary Lowman highlighted the importance of a Joint Sustainment Force and building a resilient global industrial base. Stressing the power of partnerships as we scale through crisis and conflict. On July 31st, Secretary Lowman met with Sustainment leaders across Army Materiel Command in Huntsville, AL. As a community, we are relooking how to sustain the warfighter closer to the point of need as we scale from competition to conflict. This takes incredible teamwork between DoD, Allies & Partners, and the Organic Industrial Base to ensure layered resiliency. #RSF #SustainTheStrengthOfTheNation

Mr. Morani, the Principal Deputy Assistant for Sustainment, recently traveled to Hill Air Force Base where he visited with the 388th Fighter Wing Maintenance group, toured the F-35 Depot Maintenance hangar, and met with the Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile Directorate. Mr. Morani also had the pleasure of presenting the 2023 Secretary of Defense Performance Based Logistics Award for subsystem level to the 448th Supply Chain Management Wing.
