About us

OPS: Office and Practice Solutions (OPS) is a management consulting firm that specializes in work flow analysis and optimization, business development, real estate strategies, employee recruitment, operations management, and compliance (HIPAA & OSHA) training. Our mission is to facilitate business transformation for more engaged staff, improvements in customer service, and regulatory compliance for lasting growth. OPS' FOUNDER SARI: After many years of managing real estate development for a large national retailer, OPS’s founder, Sari Schiff, realized basic business knowledge is essential to any professional practice. She transitioned to the consulting world and created a business which not only supports day-to-day practice management, but also provides compliance training and audits. She also observed most practices struggle when navigating the complicated HIPAA and OSHA regulations. Her goal is to use her expertise to clarify lengthy and complicated regulations and to provide clear guidelines for protecting both your office and your patients. She is a graduate of UW-Madison, holds certificates for HIPAA training and teaching, and is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Healthcare Compliance.

  • The FTC’s final rule banning noncompetes is a significant milestone for workers and businesses alike. Here's why this matters: Freedom to Choose: Millions of American workers will now have the freedom to change jobs or start their own businesses without being bound by restrictive noncompete clauses. Higher Wages: The average worker is expected to see an annual earnings increase contributing to overall financial well-being. Innovation and Growth: Workers will have more opportunities to bring their ideas to market, fostering a more dynamic and innovative economy. New Business Formation: The rule is projected to result in over 8,500 new businesses each year, driving economic growth and creating more job opportunities. Healthier Competition: With noncompetes out of the way, businesses will compete based on merit, leading to better wages and working conditions for employees. Innovation Boost: An estimated increase of 17,000 to 29,000 more patents each year means businesses will benefit from a surge in new ideas and technologies. Economic Dynamism: By removing barriers to job mobility and new business formation, the FTC’s rule is set to inject fresh dynamism into the American economy. Cost Savings: Lower health care costs by up to $194 billion over the next decade will ease financial pressures on both workers and businesses. Reduced Market Concentration: Fewer noncompetes mean less market concentration and more competitive pricing for consumers. https://lnkd.in/g-C3FUs5

  • Is Your Accounts Receivable a Problem? Find Out Now! 🚨 When does an account receivable become an issue? This can differ from one practice to another but here are some tips to know when a problem is starting: - An account becomes "problematic" once it’s over 60 days old. - Monitor how much each patient owes and how long the debt has been outstanding. - After 60 days, collecting your money gets much harder. - Keep less than 20% of your accounts receivable aged at 60 days or more. Special Case: Insurance Claims 🏥 - Collecting from insurance companies is more time-consuming and draining. - Aim to have no more than 20 insurance accounts aged at 30 days or more. Why Tracking Matters 📊 - Tracking aged receivables isn't just a decision; it requires action. - Your team needs to dedicate time and effort. - This effort is crucial for better cash flow predictions. - You’ll have a clearer understanding of your practice’s financial health. - The alternative? Not getting paid for your services. Putting in the time to track aged accounts receivable is essential for a financially healthy practice. 💪
