When we think of Olympic athletes, we often picture superhuman strength, relentless dedication, and an unyielding pursuit of excellence. But behind every medal and record-breaking moment, there's a human being with struggles, vulnerabilities, and mental health challenges that deserve to be heard. As more Olympic athletes step forward to share their mental health journeys, they're not just changing the conversation—they're leading it. 🌟 When Olympic champions speak openly about their mental health, it challenges the outdated notion that mental struggles are a sign of weakness. It empowers all of us, athletes or not, to seek help and prioritize our mental well-being without shame. 🌍 The platform and visibility of Olympians are unparalleled. By sharing their stories, they are reaching millions of people worldwide, spreading awareness and encouraging others to take their mental health seriously. 💪 Mental strength is just as important as physical prowess. When athletes discuss their mental health, they redefine resilience—not as the absence of struggle, but as the courage to face it and seek support. 💬 Open dialogue about mental health at the highest levels of sport fosters a culture of support, understanding, and inclusivity. It sets a powerful example for coaches, teammates, and fans to prioritize mental well-being in every aspect of life. At Wondermind, we're committed to creating a world where mental health is talked about as openly as physical health. We applaud the Olympic athletes who are paving the way and reminding us all that it's okay to not be okay—and that reaching out for help is a sign of true strength. 👏

Parental stress isn't just a personal struggle—it's now considered an urgent public health issue. 🚨 Yesterday, the U.S. Surgeon General highlighted the immense mental and emotional burden parents face today. As families navigate economic pressures, a mental health crisis, and the ever-evolving digital world, the impact on both caregivers and children is profound. It's time to prioritize conversations around mental health for parents and caregivers. 💬 At Wondermind, we know that addressing these challenges head-on isn't just important—it's necessary for creating a healthier future for all. When was the last time you took a mental health day off from work? A mental health day can be time off to practice stress management or emotional regulation when you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, etc. If you've been feeling any of the following symptoms, it's most likely time for you to take a mental health day to practice self-care and self-nourishment. 😓 1. You're feeling burnt out: While one day off may not be a total cure for burnout, it can certainly be a moment to engage in activities that will regulate your nervous system. Activities to help with this include a spa day, walking, meditating, and decompressing in solitude while reading a book, watching a movie, etc. 🚶♀️ 2. You're experiencing body ailments: Stress stores itself in the body. Chronic headaches and muscle aches, for example, can also be symptoms of an overworked nervous system. Taking a day off to rest your body can help alleviate body aches and pains. 🧘♀️ 3. You're constantly feeling aggy: When the body is overwhelmed with stress, it can lead to mood imbalances and an increase in feelings like annoyance and agitation. Sometimes, we need a break from people, including our co-workers, and a mental health day allows you to practice self-regulation and tend to the issues that might be disrupting your mood. What do you think about taking a mental health day? Do you take them regularly? Do you ever feel embarrassed asking for a mental health day?

Yes, there are actually people out there that YOLO their way past every stressor. They stress less about work deadlines. They’re unbothered by tight budgets, and they never met a doctor’s appointment they were nervous for. 😎 Whether it comes innately or not, those who developed excellent coping skills to deal with stress—like channeling it into movement or their support system—are also setting themselves up to feel less freaked out, says psychotherapist Gianna LaLota, LMHC, clinician at NYC Cognitive Therapy. We spoke with extremely chill people so you can steal some of their chill, relieve stress, and learn how to relax. Enjoy: https://lnkd.in/d6z7y2qz

“Sometimes the change you need isn’t switching jobs, moving cities, or ending relationships—it’s a change in mindset,” says Belle Liang, PhD, coauthor of How To Navigate Life. But how do you know when it’s actually time for a change? And not just, you know, boredom or running away or succumbing to the societal messaging that says we should always be *moving* and *growing* and *improving*? Let’s talk about some signs it’s time to shake things up—internally or externally—and where to start if they hit a little too close to home: https://lnkd.in/dyHgZ8RT

Yesterday, our Head of Social Media, Jordan Fink, was 1 of 100 at the first-ever White House Creator Economy Conference. 👏👏 The conversations on the state of the creator economy centered around mental health, regulation, fair pay, and AI. There was even a guest appearance from the President of the United States himself. 👀🇺🇸 We’re so excited to be able to continuously advocate for mental health when it comes to policy and beyond.
