Where Buckeyes Invest in Buckeyes

About us

The Ohio State Early Investor Network (OSEIN) is a network of individual investors from the broader Ohio State University community including alumni, students, parents, supporters, and friends who share a passion for entrepreneurship and angel investing. OSEIN connects investors with promising startups, primarily those founded or managed by fellow Buckeyes or leveraging technology from our university. By becoming members of OSEIN, alumni have the opportunity to hear pitches from, invest in and support these innovative ventures. How to Get Involved 1. Accredited Investors - Accredited investors are a crucial pillar of the Ohio State Early Investor Network, bringing significant expertise and financial capabilities that drive the network's ability to support promising startups and foster a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem. Your participation strengthens the network's capacity to provide critical support and mentorship to emerging ventures. OSEIN members pay annual dues of $1,500 per member, or a one-time Founder Membership for $15,000. This special option provides membership for the lifetime of the network, exempting the member from annual dues in subsequent years. 2. Emerging Investors - Emerging Investors are alumni who do not qualify as Accredited Investors or are seeking additional education and have a keen interest in angel investing and gaining experience. There are no financial requirements to become an Emerging Investor. 3. Entrepreneurs and Startups - Entrepreneurs and startups seeking investment from OSEIN should meet specific criteria: Founder or Leadership Tie: Having an Ohio State alumni, current student, faculty or staff, or former student who was enrolled (even if they did not complete their degree) as a founder, technology inventor, or holding a C-level or directorial position within the company. OR Technology Licensing Tie: The company is licensing technology from The Ohio State University.
