For the first time since celebrating one year of sobriety, Larry Boganwright has reunited with Katie Herdman – the substance use navigator who he credits with saving his life. Boganwright is sharing his experience with the Addiction Medicine program at OhioHealth Marion General Hospital to help others during National Recovery Month. The program, funded by a Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) rural community grant, provides a consult service and a clinic at the Marion Public Health Department for medication-assisted treatment and counseling. In the past year, more than 350 patients have been served. ohlth.co/47KN5K1

Nearly 2 million brain cells are lost each minute stroke treatment is delayed. We’re committed to providing expert, brain-saving stroke care and are proud to announce that five OhioHealth hospitals were recently recognized for just that. Congratulations to Riverside Methodist Hospital, Doctors Hospital, Grant Medical Center, Mansfield Hospital and Marion General Hospital for being honored by the American Heart Association's Get with the Guidelines® initiative. This designation highlights our continued commitment to life-saving heart and stroke care for patients, including meeting quality measures developed to reduce the time between a patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment. ohlth.co/4ghFiHp

OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital is transforming its surgical facilities with a $17.2 million investment. Enhancements will be seen in the surgical operating rooms, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), sterile processing area and other support spaces. “It’s a great example of OhioHealth’s continued investment in our vision for healthcare in southeastern Ohio,” said hospital president LeeAnn Lucas-Helber. “The project reflects progress toward our goals of keeping care local and creating a regional hub for specialty services. The investment in these facilities will enable us to keep more surgical care local and provide an improved experience for our surgery patients.” This project will be the largest single improvement to the hospital in the past decade. Completion is expected by January 2026. ohlth.co/3XqIgAP I #OhioHealthOBleness
