Metcal BVX-250 Fume Extraction System – A User’s Case Story: Revco Products Inc., a full electronic manufacturing service (EMS) company based in Southern California, frequently serves as a field-test site for METCAL™ products. Recently, Revco meticulously evaluated Metcal’s new BVX-250 fume extraction system on their PCBA hand-soldering benches. Carlos Salinas, Manufacturing Engineer at Revco, expressed his satisfaction with the BVX-250’s system performance, saying “Throughout our three-month evaluation, we observed numerous performance advantages, from its compact design and quiet operation to its robust suction power and exceptional efficiency.” Carlos emphasized the user-friendly design of the BVX-250, praising its LED Status Ring feature. He noted, “The LED Status Ring provides clear visual indicators that let operators know the state of the system at a glance. With green indicating active extraction, blue for idle mode, and amber or red signaling the need for a filter change, these visual cues enhance operator safety and comfort at the soldering bench.” Furthermore, Carlos highlighted the BVX-250’s impressive airflow, which efficiently removes solder fumes and smoke, surpassing the suction power of their currently owned competitor fume extractor.
