New research reveals that human aging isn't as gradual as we thought! Scientists have discovered two major "age spurts" at 44 and 60 years old. A study published in Nature Aging followed 108 participants over several years, analyzing changes in their RNA, proteins, and microbiomes. Key findings: Aging occurs in accelerated, non-linear bursts rather than a steady progression. At age 44, significant molecular changes begin, including decreased ability to metabolize caffeine and alcohol. Another aging burst happens at 60, with further changes in caffeine metabolism. This groundbreaking research challenges our understanding of the aging process and may have implications for healthcare and lifestyle choices as we approach these critical age milestones. Recently the Indian government has made important changes in the capital gains tax rules on a property sale. Here are the changes: For properties acquired before July 23, 2024 (the budget presentation date), taxpayers can choose between: a) Paying 20% LTCG tax with indexation benefit (inflation adjustment for cost basis), or b) Paying 12.5% LTCG tax without indexation benefit. Taxpayers can opt for whichever option results in lower tax liability. For properties purchased on or after July 23, 2024, only the new regime of 12.5% LTCG tax without indexation will apply. In general it's said that for a long held properties new rule (lower tax without indexation) will result into higher taxes. But thankfully the amendment let's us choose if the property is bought before 23rd of July, 2024.

The BOI Report is a filing that discloses information about who ultimately owns or controls a company. It's part of an effort to prevent illegal activities like money laundering and tax evasion. The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), a bureau within the U.S. Treasury Department, is responsible for implementing the CTA's requirements. They issued the final rule establishing the beneficial ownership information reporting requirements, which took effect on January 1, 2024 By requiring entities to report information about their beneficial owners to FinCEN, the Corporate Transparency Act aims to create a more secure and transparent business environment in the United States, making it significantly more challenging for criminals to exploit the financial system for illegal activities.
