As we witness the impact of the hurricane currently affecting Florida, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt concern for all our members, their families, and friends who may be in Milton’s path. We also are thinking of our friends in the Club Industry. Natural disasters can bring about significant challenges and uncertainty, and it’s during these times that our community’s strength and support become most crucial. We recognize that many of you may have loved ones in affected areas, and our thoughts are with you and them as they navigate this difficult situation. For those already impacted by Hurricane Helene, know you too are in our thoughts.

This week, we hosted our annual Employee Appreciation Week! We kicked it off with our Employee Appreciation Day/Play Day on Tuesday, where our wonderful staff got to hit the South Course, the Pool, the Courts, and then enjoy a food truck at the Club! More fun from the week to come! Stay tuned! And thank you to our wonderful employees for being the great people they are all year! 📍200 GREAT PLACES: Olympia Fields Country Club (Olympia Fields, IL) Olympia Fields Country Club was founded in 1915 by a group of investors headed by prominent Chicago businessman Charles Beach, who found a suitable site alongside the Illinois Central Railroad line, some 25 miles south of the city. Legendary University of Chicago football coach Amos Alonzo Stagg was appointed as the first president of the Country Club, which eventually purchased 20 farms spread over a 674-acre topographically diverse parcel. Construction of the immense clubhouse by George Nimmons was completed in 1925, becoming the largest private country club in America. The distinctive half-timbered, English-Tudor design features an eighty-foot-high, four-faced clock tower that has become the club’s trademark. By 1925, the club boasted four golf courses with plans for a fifth course.
