Open Omaha, held in August, created by Omaha by Design, showcased over 60 captivating spaces shaping our city. When the recent windstorm quite literally pulled the plug on their originally scheduled Kickoff, they were able to “pivot” and turn their kickoff night into a recap night. And what a recap it was! They had 18,000+ unique venue visits, (an increase from 15,000 in 2023 and 6,000 in 2022), 140+ volunteers, 1,500 Open Omaha pp users and 71 Venues, (increased from 64 in 2023) This remarkable recap night was hosted at LEO A DALY Omaha studio- a true gem of midcentury modern architecture. We got to enjoy exclusive access to the studio's rarely seen and immaculately preserved private quarters while enjoying craft cocktails and lite bites. Open Omaha continues to grow, fostering community engagement and urban excellence. A true testament to the power of resilience and thoughtful design in creating vibrant cities. “A Great City Doesn’t Just Happen. A great City happens by Design” Thank you, Omaha by Design....staff, and Board of Directors, for your invaluable contributions!
