Do you know a high school or middle school STEM teacher looking for grants? The Greater Omaha Chapter of AFCEA is now accepting applications for STEM Grants that will be used to help bolster learning in the classroom. Teachers can self-submit or individuals may submit a nomination package on their behalf. Grants typically range from $300 to $1,000 and the deadline to apply is November 1st, 2024. We had a great time at the Beyond Random Acts of STEM convening last weekend with REVISE Center and the UNO STEM TRAIL Center! Keynote speaker Dr. K. Rende Mendoza spoke about the critical role of community-building and organizing in creating equitable, impactful informal STEM learning environments. The Nebraska Alliance for Conservation and Environmental Education (NACEE) is seeking applicants for a new program focused on supporting diverse future leaders of environmental education in Nebraska 🐌 Selection for this program will result in participants receiving a $500 Scholarship ($250/semester), a year-long NACEE membership, and registration and lodging assistance (as needed) to the annual NACEE Environmental Education Conference. Awardees will also be paired with a NACEE board mentor and expected to participate in (1) required cohort kick-off meeting (Fall semester) and a minimum of (2) mentor/mentee chats (Spring semester).
