More than 5,000 cybersecurity practitioners and IT experts met in Las Vegas last week for CrowdStrike Fal.Con to learn, discover, and connect. Here are the Omnissa team’s key takeaways from Fal.Con 2024: ⭐ Users and identity: Credentials are the keys to the kingdom and many security companies are pulling together composite views of risk in this area. At Omnissa, we believe that securing end user identities requires a persona-based approach starting with passwordless single-sign on solutions and step-up authentication with MFA. After covering the basics, we suggest layering in capabilities including conditional access that considers user behavior and device posture. The Omnissa Platform supports risk-based secure access for Horizon Virtual Desktops and Apps as well as all apps provided via Workspace ONE UEM. ⭐ Endpoints: Are your agents active across your estate? An endpoint security solution is only as good as the effectiveness of its implementation. Miss a device, miss detection and response. During the Omnissa “Managing and Securing Complex End User Environments” presentation, Steve DeJarnett explained how Omnissa delivers critical security agents on devices with auto-provisioning via modern management (UEM) from day 1 onwards. We can also configure endpoint security agents to run in our Omnissa Horizon 8 environments, so virtual desktops are protected. ⭐ Automate, automate, automate: We learned that SOC analysts and leaders need for individuals to develop new skill sets related to automation, and automation across security and IT ecosystems were the topic of many partner presentations at the event. By automatically tying together information and actions, organizations can proactively secure devices and mitigate issues more quickly. Connected ecosystems are good for teams and help realize a higher return from security investments. Learn more about this in Omnissa Chief Product Officer Bharath Rangarajan’s talk with SiliconANGLE & theCUBE. ⭐ Mobile: Many conference attendees admitted that they haven’t addressed mobile risk yet, though they know mobile breaches are a problem. This echoes the conclusion in the 2024 Verizon Mobile Security Index that IT and security leaders aren’t prepared and leaders are under-perceiving mobile risk and over-estimating preparedness. Are you prepared? Please don’t wait for a C-level mobile social engineering campaign to emerge in your org before taking action to prevent mobile breaches. Learn about the highest-risk threat at our “Can You Spot the Phish?” webinar, now available on-demand. Omnissa will continue to invest in making management and security work better, together. IGEL Technology Disrupt was one for the books! 👏 Day 1 featured Ralf Gegg sharing exciting insights on how Omnissa is shaping the future of digital work, while on Day 2 Spencer Pitts took us on a detailed breakdown of app management and cloud desktop delivery, showcasing the innovations that are driving Omnissa forward. Stefan Metzger led a highly informative technical bootcamp, covering app management strategies for the Hybrid Work Era, and there was the powerful panel discussion hosted by Steve McGovern that featured experts from ITQ, Microsoft, and Rimo3. And let’s not forget the inspiring Women in Tech Panel, where Sarah Swatman’s contributions highlighted the crucial role women play in shaping the future of tech. A big shoutout to all the speakers and attendees for making this event a success. We look forward to what’s next at #OmnissaONE Amsterdam!
