While it may seem appealing on the surface, this model raises concerns about fairness and long-term sustainability. Relying solely on connections with hiring managers to secure placements, while smaller companies compete fiercely for minimal returns, undermines the collaborative spirit of our industry. The reality is that these smaller firms are investing significant resources in job boards and candidate outreach, only to face diminishing returns. If this trend continues, we could see a negative impact on the staffing industry as a whole. It's essential for vendors and subcontractors to work together to find the best candidates for clients, ensuring that compensation reflects the value of the partnership. Strong, long-term relationships should be the goal, fostering mutual growth and success. The increasing prevalence of job postings that exclude third-party or C2C engagements isn't just a loss for candidates—it hampers the hiring process as a whole.
