On Target Preparedness

This past Saturday, September 14th, agencies from Wilson and Johnston County came together to train together in a full scale exercise at the Nutrien Ag Solutions in Kenly, North Carolina. The scenario was a ruptured chemical tank leaking product. Actors playing victims were provided by Wilson County Government and Campbell University Homeland Security program. Over 110 people participated in this exercise from Wilson County Emergency Management, NC 911 Board, Johnston County Emergency Services, Wilson County 911, Crossroads Fire Department, Wilson County EMS, Kenly Fire Department, Nutrien Ag Solutions, Micro Fire Department, Johnston County EMS, North Carolina Emergency Management, Wilson Fire and Rescue, Rock Ridge Fire Department, North Carolina Regional Response Team 1 and 4, and Wilson Medical Center. It was an honor to aid in planning, directing, and evaluating this exercise. All agencies and participants did great!

On Friday, March 8th, On Target Preparedness staff Jim Groves, Doug Logan, and David Hesselmeyer were honored to work with Currituck County Emergency Management and their partners in hosting an active shooter tabletop exercise. The exercise focused on the initial response to the incident and the reunification of students with their parents. The exercise was a tremendous success thanks to the participation and hard work of the attendees.

#FlashbackFriday look at our Team out in NE NC last week with emergency management, first responders, school staff, and additional Currituck County representatives during a Reunification workshop. This was the first in a series of building-block exercises leading to a full-scale exercise later this Spring in Currituck County focusing on reunifying students and staff from a school site during an active assailant situation.
