Last Thursday, our Team participated in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night event in Manhattan's South Street Seaport for the third year in a row to raise funds and awareness for blood cancer patients. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of our work as we walked to bring light to the darkness of cancer alongside an inspiring community of patients, survivors, and their loved ones 🧡🏮

Our Team wore pink for the #InternationalDayAgainstBreastCancer to raise awareness about breast cancer and promote early detection, diagnosis, and treatment 🩷🎀

Happy birthday to us 🎂4️⃣🧡 Over the past weekend, we celebrated our 4th Birthday by reflecting on our achievements during these first 4 years in our story and on what we hope to accomplish in the years ahead.

October is #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth 🎀🎀 - Breast cancer is a disease in which malignant cells form in the tissues of the breast - When detected early, the 5-year relative survival rate for localized breast cancer is 99% - Breast cancer also affects men, who account for about 1% of cases - Symptoms may include a lump in a breast, breast warmth and itching, and nipple changes and discharge - Over 2 million women worldwide are diagnosed with breast cancer per year - Maintaining a healthy weight can reduce the risk of breast cancer

September is #BloodCancerAwarenessMonth 🩸🩸 - Blood cancer accounts for the majority (~25%) of childhood cancer cases - There are over 100 types of blood cancer, including types of Leukemia, Lymphoma, Myeloma, Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS), and Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPNs) - Symptoms may include exhaustion, recurring fever, random aches, and night sweats - The risk factors associated with blood cancers aren't fully understood - Blood cancers often begin in the bone marrow and are usually the result of an abnormal reproduction of white blood cells
