Sravya is a Mechanical Engineer with over 5 years of experience in design, structural analysis, and value engineering. Specializing in CAD and FEA tools like SOLIDWORKS, ANSYS, and ABAQUS, she has a proven track record of optimizing manufacturing processes, reducing costs, and enhancing structural efficiency. With a strong background in project management, standards compliance, and cross-functional collaboration, Sravya excels in delivering innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges. Her expertise spans designing various mechanical systems, performing advanced analyses, and mentoring aspiring engineers. As a member of One Community, Sravya is currently developing a DIY elevator system for the Duplicable City Center. After thorough research, she selected a hydraulic elevator for its ease of assembly and cost-effectiveness. One Community welcomes Muhammad Sarmad Tariq to the Engineering Team as our newest Volunteer/Consultant! Sarmad is a PhD Electrical Engineering graduate from the University of North Carolina Charlotte. His research focus was Power Systems. He is originally from Pakistan and completed his bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from LUMS, Pakistan. Sarmad completed his master’s in Power Systems from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. Before his PhD, he worked as a Research Associate on academic projects related to renewable energy systems. As a member of the One Community Team, Sarmad has worked on the Highest Good Energy component, analyzing and comparing the costs of on-grid solar PV systems versus off-grid solar PV systems, along with the various aspects associated with them. He has created a report that can be used by a general user to guide them through the process of choosing between an on-grid solar PV system and an off-grid solar PV system. One Community’s open source AutoCAD template and tutorial page provides a well-organized format for AutoCAD® files and layers. We’ve used this to update all 7 of our village models and the Duplicable City Center. In the process we also created this open source tutorial and shared the template file download so others working with AutoCAD can use it too.
