I have been noticing more and more people including pronouns in their LinkedIn profiles, Zoom display names, and email signatures as standard practice, which is heartwarming to see. Today is Indigenous Peoples' Day in the U.S. It recognizes the strength and resilience of Indigenous communities since European ships first arrived in North America in 1492. It’s also a time to celebrate the cultures, traditions and contributions of Native people in the U.S. today. My son recently checked out a book from the library about the Navajo Code Talkers and the role they played during WW I and II. It highlighted a piece of history I definitely did not learn about in school.
