This month’s PDR on Design presentation took us on a vibrant journey through the rich world of color in Mexican architecture. Led by our talented designer Andres Gutierrez, the presentation explored how bold colors, indigenous heritage, and environmental surroundings shape the architectural identity of Mexico. Andres shared how traditional Mexican colors, like pink, yellow, and red, draw from the country’s landscape, food, and culture, while also reflecting its spiritual and emotional depth. Whether it's the use of purple for spirituality or orange for hospitality, colors in Mexican architecture create a unique experience for those who interact with the space. “A little color goes a long way,” Andres emphasized, encouraging modern designers to embrace bold hues intentionally in their work. He believes that understanding the psychological impact of color is key to shaping meaningful spaces and advises designers to educate their clients on the transformative power of color.
