    "People are apathetic when it comes to work anymore and employee loyalty is gone." I hear different versions of the above statement all the time. 😟 Since I work in the incentive and recognition business, people in my network ask me about my job, and for advice on the best ways to inspire and motivate their teams. Here's what I've learned over the years from working with and leading high performance teams, and learning from global brands who do it right. -- People are motivated by different things. Lean in to find out what is important to your team members -- Have a shared overarching goal and make sure everyone is aligned. If your team is working in silos and they don't have a line of sight to how they're making an impact, this can feel isolating and limiting -- Pause to take time to communicate important updates and recognize milestone achievements, including work anniversaries, birthdays, or finishing a big project -- we are people first and employees second -- Create a culture where team members reach to grow and shoot their own shot, but also cheer each other on with accomplishments -- Use reporting to benchmark where you are, create a regular cadence of measurement and share the progress with your team And the most underrated, but simple thing you can do today for creating a motivating and inspiring team -- say the following words often and actually mean them - Thank you - I appreciate you - Thanks for going the extra mile - You make a difference here - I trust you - Thanks for your hard work -- enjoy your vacation!
