We are happy to share that one6G has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with the NGMN Alliance. The agreement was signed last month by Mohammad Reza Shikh-Bahaei, the President of one6G and Anita Döhler, the CEO of NGMN. The signing of this #MoU marks an important step toward an even closer collaboration within the extended wireless communications community and we look forward to leveraging our combined expertise to drive progress in the field, helping the industry meet the growing demand for #sustainable, #advanced, high-performance #wireless #communications #solutions.

We are happy to announce that a one6G paper titled "In-Network Computing and Split-AI in 6G" will be presented at the 3rd International Conference on 6G Networking (#6GNet2024) taking place next week in Paris, France. The paper, authored by academic and industrial experts from NTT DOCOMO🇩🇪 University of Calabria🇮🇹 CNIT - Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Telecomunicazioni🇮🇹 Universidade de Aveiro🇵🇹 University of Thessaly🇬🇷 Huawei🇩🇪 and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) 🇳🇴 results from joint activities carried out within the one6G Work Item 207 -Intelligent User Plane and In-Network Computing. The paper explores the integration of In-Network Computing to enhance the efficiency of #AI-based applications within #6G networks. The authors demonstrate how INC-assisted Split-AI, which distributes neural network execution across multiple network nodes, can reduce latency, lower mobile device energy consumption, and optimize network resource usage. The paper also introduces key architectural enhancements in the Control Plane and User Plane of 6G networks, necessary to natively support these capabilities. These proposals are validated through a proof-of-concept testbed through which the study highlights the advantages of INC-assisted Split-AI technologies. Stay tuned for more updates!
