The Onondaga County Office of Economic Development is a collaborative organization that provides information and services to relocating companies, expanding companies and local businesses. It is our goal to improve and grow the physical, financial and human infrastructure in Syracuse and Onondaga County, improving the area’s ability to retain and recruit businesses. The Office is responsible for the management of the Onondaga County Industrial Development Agency (OCIDA), the Onondaga Civic Development Corporation (OCDC), and the Trust for Cultural Resources of the County of Onondaga (CRT).

Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon and the OCIDA team attended #SEMICONJapan! The week began with a Semiconductor Reception hosted by the U.S. Embassy at the Ambassador’s residence. Onondaga County joined representatives from New York, Arizona, Virginia, and Oregon for conversation regarding the growing U.S. semiconductor ecosystem with supply chain companies. Onondaga County had an insightful meeting with the Japan External Trade Organization's leadership to discuss business opportunities for Japanese companies interested in expanding in our community. At SEMICON Japan, County Executive McMahon gave two presentations on opportunities to coinvest with Micron. Throughout the week the team met with numerous supply chain companies and had meaningful conversations about co-locating here. These are exciting times for Central New York! This past June, OCIDA had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from Taiwan made up of semiconductor supply chain professionals and university leaders, led by the American Institute in Taiwan. Their time in Onondaga County focused on exploring supply chain collaborations and economic development opportunities as they relate to Micron Technology’s New York project. Their visit was both productive and memorable!
