We want to send a huge CONGRATS out to John Stapleton, of PIVOT Architecture, for being nominated as Oregon’s Workforce Champion! John has played a pivotal role in leading Team Oregon Build/Constructing a Brighter Future, a project empowering youth to serve Oregon’s communities through service-based construction projects. Since March, Team Oregon Build has expanded to serve 22 counties, reaching 11,115 student classroom experiences across 86 unique schools. Through John’s leadership and guidance, Team Oregon Build has received 417 orders from Construction CTE Classrooms, growing significantly from the initial grassroots effort of building 14 units in 2023. John does so much for our community, let's take a moment to do something for him: online voting is open through October 21. "There are so many folks passionately dedicated to stabilizing and enriching the lives of families and children in Lane County - and Holly is among the most impactful. Her influence and leadership over the past 15 years have successfully centered early childhood as a priority in our community. I am inspired by the work she has done, and excited to see what is yet to come. It is truly an honor to call Holly our 2024 Champion of Children," said Parenting Now Executive Director Theya Joslin. Please, join us in congratulating Holly for this well-deserved honor. Her tireless efforts are making our community a happier, healthier, and more prosperous place to live!

Though we are grateful to see the ice beginning to thaw, we know much of our community is assessing damages, attempting repairs, and many are still without power. We have decided to cancel tomorrow's Startup Coffee Meetup in response to the emergency, but we look forward to seeing all of you next month on Thursday, February 15. Stay safe!
