We are excited to further our collaboration with the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) through a newly signed MoU during GeoFest 2024. This partnership will drive joint efforts in forums, workshops, and training sessions aimed at advancing geospatial knowledge in the region. At the event, OGC Chief Standards Officer Scott Simmons reflected on our expanding engagement in Singapore. He underscored the country’s exceptional dedication to leveraging geospatial data to improve lives. The OGC Forum held during the event provided an excellent platform for learning from global geospatial leaders and exchanging insights to foster greater collaboration Image Credits: SLA | Refer to SLA's Announcement here: https://zurl.co/Mv8N

Congratulations, European Space Agency - ESA !
👏ESA’s first planetary defence spacecraft has departed planet Earth! The #HeraMission is headed to a unique target among the more than 1.3 million known asteroids in our Solar System – the only body to have had its orbit shifted by human action – to solve lingering mysteries associated with its deflection.👉https://lnkd.in/dKrD3kYK 🚀5, 4, 3, 2, 1, ignition and liftoff 👇

Calling all geospatial innovators! OGC is offering grants to its members to participate in the fifth phase of the Federated Marine Spatial Data Infrastructure (FMSDI) Pilot. This exciting initiative focuses on the seamless integration of land and marine geospatial data, particularly in the challenging intertidal zone. Why this matters: The "white ribbon" – where land meets sea – is critical for coastal management, urban planning, and environmental science. Yet, data integration in this zone is hampered by differing semantics, data models, and perspectives across land and sea communities. Pilot Objectives: The Pilot will develop a framework for a future best practice document for transferring the data from one community into the other’s conceptual model with as little loss as possible, and then making it available at the application level. Additionally, the Pilot will produce software demonstrators that illustrate data integration across communities and agencies. Benefits of participation: Funded research & development Reduced development costs and risks First-to-market advantage Influence on international standards Partnership opportunities Broader market reach Applications close November 10, 2024. Apply now! ➡️ https://zurl.co/q5ch ⬅️ Interested? Don't miss the Q&A webinar on October 22, 2024, at 09:00 EDT. The initiative is sponsored by OGC Strategic Members, the UK Hydrographic Office and NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration. The grants provided by the Sponsors are designed to help defray some of the costs for organizations, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), that would like to participate extensively in this work. Not an OGC member? No problem! You can still apply. If your proposal is selected, you’ll need to join OGC to access all the tools and documentation shared throughout the project. Membership will also unlock additional opportunities for collaboration and innovation. #geospatial #marinespatialdata #innovation #intertidalzone #coastalmanagement #OGC #FMSDI #grant
