Governments today are increasingly relying on technology tools to buy goods and services and generally support their procurement processes. While technology won’t fix procurement on its own, it is a good place to start. To ensure that procurement decisions effectively address community needs instead of merely serving bureaucratic interests, it is essential to prioritize a human-centered approach in procurement technology. Here’s our guide outlining principles for a human-centered approach to government procurement technology: https://lnkd.in/ed7pevmM #PublicProcurement #OpenGov #OpenContracting #OpenData #Procurement

We open up and transform public procurement to deliver fairer and better results for people, prosperity and the planet.
About us
Open Contracting Partnership aims to open up and transform public procurement to deliver fairer and better results for people, prosperity, and the planet. Our world runs on public contracts. One in three dollars spent by governments goes towards contracts with private companies to deliver public goods and services. It’s time to think different about public procurement and break open the trillions of dollars spent on contracts to unlock competition, innovation, and inclusion. We seek to bring together government, civil society and community organizations around improving procurement and open data. We create better value for money, fairer opportunities for business, and better results for people by helping ensure public money is spent openly, equitably, and effectively. We help our partners achieve measurable and lasting impact through locally-owned and inclusive public procurement reform. We support leaders from government, business, nonprofits, and journalists to co-design projects, and develop and implement open contracting strategies that work. We are proud to live in the regions that we serve. Our globally-distributed staff of approximately 29 people is based in thirteen countries across the Americas, Africa, Europe, and Asia.

Enabling Data Driven Decision Making Processes As part of our ongoing expansion of the Intelligent Solution for Disaster Risk Reduction (#IDSSRR) on October 24, we onboarded 225+ officials from across District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) and revenue circles of Assam. We would like to thank Disaster Management Assam (#ASDMA) for their support and encouragement. The session was inaugurated with encouraging opening remarks by Shri Gyanendra Dev Tripathi, Chief Executive Officer, ASDMA and Smt. Meenakshi Das Nath, Additional Chief Executive Officer, ASDMA. It was attended by Additional District Commissioners, DDMA officers, Circle Officers, District Project officers and Field Officers. We demonstrated to officials the navigation of the available high value datasets (#HVDs) on this platform. Big Kudos to the whole CivicDataLab #ClimateAction team, Rakhi Kashyap Sumit Baruah Bhanita Boro Kabeer Arora Gaurav G. Aparna R., for their work and committement to enhance data driven decision making processes. ASDMA has reaffirmed its commitment to utilising this innovative solution that harnesses data for identifying critical interventions and determining funding requirements across districts and revenue circles in the upcoming #floodpreparation cycle. IDS-DRR enables implementing agencies take informed and impactful decisions to prioritise resource allocation for the most vulnerable communities and geographies impacted by #ExtremeWeather events. A result of multi stakeholder partnerships, #IDSDRR has been developed with support from The Patrick J. McGovern Foundation (PJMF), Open Contracting Partnership and The Rockefeller Foundation. #IDSDRR #OpenDataCollaboratives #DataDrivenDecisionMaking #EvidenceBasedPolicy #DRR #ClimateChange #DataforPublicGood
