We’ve sponsored events in the past but Main Street Summit felt different. (oh, btw, this is Daryna Kulya and Juraj Pal reporting back 🫡 ) We flew into Columbia to connect with our customers and partners (and to tell folks about OpenPhone) but left the event making friends. SMB community is full of ambitious, generous, and kind people. We left every conversation feeling inspired. Thanks to Brent Beshore, Laurie Oberweather, the entire Main Street Summit team for hosting an incredible event, to Sarah Jane Photography, LLC for partnering with us on the headshots studio, and to everyone we had a chance to hang out with. Until next year 👋

Co-Founder at OpenPhone - we're building the world's best business phone

I'm so excited to share that OpenPhone is looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our team. 🎨 If you're a passionate Designer, you know that an inherent appreciation for good design can be hard to come by. And at OpenPhone, design is in our DNA. From day 1, when we were just a scrappy startup with more dreams than dollars, design was at our core. It wasn't about having the biggest budget (because you can't buy taste)—it was about how much we obsessed over every little detail. Imagine being part of a team where design isn't just a department—it's a driving force. Where your ideas don't get lost in bureaucratic shuffles, but actually shape the product thousands use daily. So, if you're a Designer who: 🚀 Loves pushing boundaries 💪 Craves autonomy and impact 🌟 Wants to elevate their craft in a powerful, close-knit environment ...then we might just be your people. (leaving the link to apply in the comments)

Checking in from Dallas airport 📍 Just when we thought we were done with conferences, Daryna Kulya & Juraj Pal decided they couldn’t miss out on Main Street Summit in Columbia, Missouri! It’s their first time at the conference (and in Missouri!), and they’re both looking forward to hanging out with everyone, and meeting and learning from small business owners and operators. We’re also sponsoring professional headshots on Wednesday—start practicing your poses and swing by 📸 Any Missouri must-try's? Let us know!

Feels a little odd posting this here (we love you LinkedIn) but who’s on Reddit? We are and we've just crossed the 1,000 members mark on our r/openphone subreddit 🎉 To celebrate, we're hosting our very first AMA there with our Head of Product Terrance Kwok! It's happening on Wednesday, October 9th at 11 AM PST / 2 PM EST on r/openphone 📅 Come with questions, feedback or just hang out with us as we chat about OpenPhone, our roadmap and maybe Terrance will give us an exclusive preview… See you there! 👋 (Link to our subreddit and AMA info in the comments ⤵️)

When you start a company, advice comes at you from all directions—everyone seems to know what you should do. And while mentorship and guidance are important, there’s something crucial about trusting your gut that often gets overlooked. Early on, it’s easy to assume that others know better, especially when you’re new to the journey. But ignoring your instincts can lead to some tough lessons. This was a lesson Jonathon Barkl, Co-Founder and CEO of AirGarage, learned early on. At the beginning of his founder journey, he found himself following the advice of others, instead of following his intuition. Over time, he came to understand that while outside perspectives are valuable, nothing can replace the inner clarity that comes from trusting your own vision. If you’re at the start of your founder journey, or want to learn more about following your gut, you have to check out the full “Founder to Founder” podcast episode on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/euzSAB47

Selfies or it didn’t happen 📸 Yesterday we had two of our West Coast hubs, San Fransisco and Vancouver, get together to co-work for the day. With our subtle editing skills, you wouldn’t even know they were co-working separately, in two different countries 😉
