Last month we had a significant milestone as part of our ongoing policy efforts, when the U.S. District Judge Paul Engelmayer dismissed most of the SEC’s complaint against SolarWinds and its CISO, Tim Brown. Our Policy Team Amit Elazari, Dr. J.S.D Michelle Sahar had the privilege and honor of working alongside Emily Elaine Coyle and legal experts Andrew Goldstein, Josef Ansorge, and Matt Nguyen at Cooley LLP and Timothy Howard at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer to support the development of an Amicus Brief supported by dozens of leading CISOs, ultimately impacting the court decisions. Special thanks to Robert Rodriguez from SINET, who helped mobilize the CISO community. The CISO amicus brief played a crucial role in the court’s decision, demonstrating the impact we can make when we unite and leverage our diverse networks and areas of expertise. Arguments from our brief were prominently featured in the court’s dismissal order, underscoring the importance of our collective efforts.
