From our internal training programs to those we offer our partners, our Learning and Development and Enablement teams’ work touches almost every one at OpenTable and Kayak. So we were incredibly proud when they nabbed the #63 spot at Training magazine’s APEX Awards—rising an unbelievable 42 spots from last year’s awards! It’s a testament to their hard work, and with that kind of dedication to improvement, it’s no wonder they put out programs that inspire us all to continue to learn. Congratulations, teams! Thank you to Patrick Griffith, Danielle DeAngelis, Emily Guite, and Angela Van Buren for representing us at the awards ceremony.

Meet Alexa+, our next-generation AI assistant. No more transactional conversations, this upgraded Alexa+ is a personalized experience—it knows you, has fun, and can help get things done. Here are just a few ways it works: 🗣️ Alexa+ has agentic capabilities, but it’s more than an agent. It’s proactive; you can delegate tasks and it will take action on your behalf. Just like a real-life assistant, the more you interact with Alexa+ the better it gets. It can answer almost any question, and have a full-on conversation about almost any topic. 🤝 It works out-of-the-box with tens of thousands of services and devices you use in your daily life—GrubHub, OpenTable, Ticketmaster, Yelp, Thumbtack, Vagaro, Fodor’s, TripAdvisor, Amazon, Whole Foods Market, Uber, Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, Max, smart home devices from companies like Philips Hue, Roborock, and Lutron; and more. 💡 Alexa+ uses devices, context, and knowledge to create an intuitive, proactive, and simple smart home experience. You can control multiple smart devices with a single request, create Alexa Routines entirely by voice, and Alexa will even infer what you mean without an explicit request—like understanding it should adjust the temperature on your smart thermostat when you say you’re cold, or dim the lights when you say it’s too bright. Alexa+ costs $19.99 per month or free to all Amazon Prime members, and will start rolling out in the U.S. in the next few weeks. Learn more: https://amzn.to/4ifYyoD

  • Like the rest of the city, LA’s hospitality industry is still reeling from the impacts of the wildfires. And whether you live locally or across the country, there’s a way you can help. OpenTable has teamed up with Restaurants Care, a local organization that provides direct funding to food and beverage workers who have lost housing or jobs. The best way to help out is to dine out. For every reservation made and completed* at a Los Angeles restaurant from 2/19—3/5, OpenTable will make a donation to Restaurants Care. And if you’re not in LA, there’s now an option to donate your dining points to the cause. Learn more about the partnership and how you can help: https://lnkd.in/eu5VFk24

To celebrate the Lunar New Year, we had the privilege of partnering with UK Advisory Board member Mandy Yin for a special industry-focused Prosperity Dinner at her restaurant, Sambal Shiok. The evening kicked off  with a traditional lion dance to bring good luck, and then guests enjoyed an incredible eight-course sharing menu of Malaysian-Chinese flavours, including Mandy’s iconic Yee Sang prosperity toss salad. Here’s a look at all of the fun: Jessica Smith Angus Raffles Laura D'Elia Sasha Shaker Aaron Hsu Suada A.

This week saw the return of The Good Food Guide Awards to London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane, proudly sponsored this year by OpenTable. From local gems to MICHELIN-Star icons, the evening celebrated everything from Most Beautiful Restaurant to Chef to Watch - highlighting the incredible diversity of dining experiences and restaurants across the UK. Congratulations to all the award winners, including the newly crowned Restaurant of the Year, Osip Restaurant in Bruton, which OpenTable’s Laure Bornet was lucky enough to present to chef Merlin Labron-Johnson. At OpenTable, we’re always innovating to help diners discover amazing restaurants, and help restaurants fill seats. That’s why we’re excited to be the first restaurant tech partner at launch for OpenAI’s new Operator tool. Operator is an AI agent that helps users search the web and, in our case, easily make single or recurring restaurant reservations. See how it works:* https://lnkd.in/e8Z8Cj9g *As a research preview, Operator will first be available to Pro users in the US.
