🔥 12 Million Meals Served 🔥 Thirteen years ago, a handful of big-hearted pitmasters left Kansas City to feed their neighbors in Joplin, MO, after an E5 tornado devastated the city. They had no idea how many lives they would touch. And they certainly couldn’t have predicted the last 20 days. Today, we’ve reached an incredible milestone: 12 million meals served. What’s truly staggering is that over 791,000 of those meals were served in just the last 20 days. A total of 882 generous souls gave more than 20,000 hours to care for their neighbors from Florida to Tennessee. Even more remarkable, we know we’ll serve many hundreds of thousands more before heading home. From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank every extraordinary volunteer, sponsor, donor, and community we’ve been privileged to serve. This milestone belongs to all of you. ❤️ Culinary Therapy: Good for the Body, Better for the Soul ❤️ While Operation BBQ Relief's disaster response team provides meals across Fl, NC, and TN, OBR's mission supporting heroes and their families doesn't stop. This weekend we will welcome siblings of fallen military heroes from Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors to Camp OBR for culinary therapy, connection and outdoor experiences. This one-of-a-kind experience led by the OBR team and celebrity chef and pitmaster, Matt Groark of Groark Boys BBQ, will guide participants in culinary therapy, a practice that nourishes the body and the soul. At Camp OBR, we believe that cooking can be a path to healing, offering creativity, connection, and empowerment. Whether grilling or preparing simple meals, culinary therapy fosters community and purpose, reminding participants that food is more than fuel—it's a way to restore and connect.
