🌍Presenting Our Latest Groundbreaking Research on Ground #GridDesign!   We are excited to announce that ETAP’s very own Dr. Alireza Akrami, Senior Power Engineer, alongside Dr. Haijun Liu, Senior Principal Electrical Engineer, presented their cutting-edge research paper, "A Comprehensive Comparative Analysis of IEEE Std 80 and EN 50522 in Ground Grid Design," at the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS) Annual Meeting 2024 in Phoenix, AZ.   This research offers a crucial global perspective on ground grid design by comparing the widely used IEEE Std 80 with EN 50522, emphasizing best practices and advancements in #ElectricalSafety and performance.   The presentation took place on October 23, during the Power System Protection Committee (PSPC) Panel Session 5, where our team highlighted key insights that are shaping the future of #PowerSystem design and #SafetyStandards across regions.   We’re thrilled to be at the forefront of innovation in power system protection and excited to share this knowledge with the global engineering community. 🌐⚡   👇 Check out the abstract of their paper below and stay tuned for more updates from IAS 2024!   📑 Abstract:   "This paper presents a comprehensive comparative analysis for AC substation ground grid design based on two prominent standards: IEEE Std 80 and EN 50522. The standards are compared across various aspects, including allowable body current, calculation methodologies for tolerable touch voltage and step voltage, soil modeling complexity, and capability to calculate actual touch voltage and step voltage. In #China, there was great interest by attendees at two major #events in September. At the Shanghai International #IndustryExpo, the full range of our #ETAPSoftware, #SEESoftware, and #Caneco solutions were showcased. It was a valuable opportunity to have meaningful discussions with industry professionals, and our solutions received extensive media coverage.
