They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Here are two pictures - a comparison showing a hole feature on a part when using a typical vision metrology system on the left, and when using an all-new SmartScope M-Series metrology system on the right. Notice the difference in image clarity and field-of-view size! If you look closely, you can even see the differences between partial and full telecentricity. With the typical system on the left, distortion on the outer edges of the field-of-view means the user will need to take multiple images of the part within their routine to achieve accurate results. With the larger field-of-view and fully telecentric, distortion-free optical system offered by SmartScope M-Series systems, only one image is required! Faster data acquisition = higher throughput!
