For the past 30 years, chronic stress has been rising. Today, nearly half of US adults experience frequent stress, the highest number to date. Sparking a ripple effect, research shows stress is causing widespread sleep struggles. Worse, lack of sleep is triggering more stress—creating a negative feedback loop. • 63% of those reporting sleep deprivation are also frequently stressed. • Of those who get enough sleep, just 31% are stressed. Stress and sleep levels are also linked to mental health, with well-rested Gen Zers twice as likely to say they’re happy, per Gallup. Just like the problem at hand, effective solutions will have to be holistic. Stress, sleep, and overall health are inextricable.

Waiting until you’re thirsty is a bad way of hydrating When you’re thirsty you’re already dehydrated Being dehydrated puts you in a more sympathetic state and has been shown to increase HR and decrease HRV not to mention increase BG levels and BP Those with metabolic issues NEED to be more aware of their hydration habits You don’t have to chug fluid like a madman but being more cognizant and aware and drinking consistently will help Drinking more consistently > “dRiNk MoAr WaTeR” Goal: At least 1/2 your bodyweight in ounces per day plus more for additonal sweating (workouts/sauna/environmental conditions) I keep a 24oz Hydro Flask by me and finish it ~6 times per day Three to four before noon Twice after noon Another one during workouts Simple

Sauna is gaining clinical co-sign. 🔥🩺 A 2021 study looked at the biological impact of sauna, and found that the wellness routine appears to extend healthspan. By mimicking the same physiological and protective responses as exercise, repeated sauna use optimizes stress response — protecting against cardiovascular and neurodegenerative disease. Researchers say sauna-ing can also preserve muscle mass and fight sarcopenia. Science is stacking in favor of the Finnish tradition, with other studies showing: — Saunaing ~3x/week lowers all-cause mortality risk by 40% and CVD death risk by 27%. — Sauna lowers blood pressure and cholesterol—while enhancing cardio fitness and recovery—when paired with exercise. — A single session can improve reaction time, psychological stress, and mood. Heat therapy is being explored as a path to combat depression, dementia, arthritis, and even cancer. Surging with wellness consumers, the global sauna market is expected to top $195B by 2029. 📩 Subscribe to Fitt Insider for more health & fitness news, trends, insights, and market research: https://lnkd.in/ePW8y89d [Study: Patrick RP, Johnson TL. For health and longevity, a little exercise goes a long way. A recent study published in JAMA Internal Medicine detailed the relationship between moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) and mortality rates. TL;DR: Upping daily MVPA by a few minutes could reduce premature deaths in the US while providing substantial public health benefits: 10 min ⬆️ could prevent 111K deaths 20 min ⬆️ could prevent 209K deaths 30 min ⬆️ could prevent 272K deaths Despite the upside, most people don’t exercise enough and 23% of US adults are sedentary. Time is a barrier for many, but these findings should be an inspiring reminder that any activity is a step in the right direction. And everyone—from fitness brands and gym operators to employers, healthcare providers, and government officials—should make promoting daily physical activity a top priority. [ 🔖 PMID: 35072698 ]
