As the consumerization of health care accelerates, convenience and access, as much as quality, may be the deciding factor when a person chooses a provider. For health care organizations, that means having the ability to predict, at a personal level, the kind of access a person will need and want at different points in their care journey. While many organizations are using data to develop a detailed understanding of consumer preferences in their markets, 43 percent of health care leaders surveyed in a new report identified a lack of data as their top challenge in preparing for a future dominated by the consumer.
