💡 Oh, snap! 131 miles of new roadway lighting is being installed in Orange County thanks to our $100 million Accelerated Transportation Safety Program. “Good lighting reduces nighttime crashes, especially at intersection crossings, and provides a safer environment for all road users,” said Colleen Lutz, assistant project manager, Orange County Public Works Engineering. “Better visibility enables drivers, pedestrians and cyclists to identify potential hazards faster, thus avoiding possible accidents.” Learn more about this 5-year plan to make our streets safer for bike riders, pedestrians, and drivers. 🔗 bit.ly/4f2sByP

🍂 If you have extra yard waste due to the storm, bundle it, bag it, or place it in a can! 🌳 The weekly collection for yard waste is limited to three cubic yards (about the size of three stoves). Additionally, each can, bag, and bundle must be 60 pounds or less, and limbs must be three feet long or less and tied securely with string. 🚥 New signal coming to S. Apopka Vineland Road and Wandering Way 🚥 Construction of a new traffic signal and relocation of a water main at this intersection will result in lane closures and could cause delays for drivers. Jersey barriers will be installed on the outside northbound lane of Apopka Vineland Road to protect crews from vehicle traffic. Pedestrians will also be detoured around the work area. Crews will begin working Sunday night. The project should be complete, and the traffic signal fully activated in February.
