The Orange County Paralegal Association (OCPA) is a professional association for paralegals located in beautiful Southern California. OCPA is dedicated to helping you further your paralegal career. Stay up to date along with your peers and have the security of always being a step ahead in your career! OCPA adheres to a strict code of ethics to maintain the highest level of professionalism. OCPA is committed to ethical responsibility in the legal profession. MISSION STATEMENT: The Orange County Paralegal Association is committed to excellence through education, certification, and ethical responsibility. HISTORY AND PURPOSE: The Orange County Paralegal Association (OCPA), was formed in 1977 in response to a growing need for an organized professional association for paralegals. Originally formed as a section of the Orange County Bar Association, OCPA became an independent, voluntary, non-profit corporation in 1986 for paralegals interested in furthering their professional development. In 1995 OCPA joined NALA the Paralegal Association ("NALA") as an affiliated association. NALA promotes the ethical practices of the paralegal profession and administers the CP program, a self-regulatory program offering national credentials for Paralegals.

The Orange County Paralegal Association is opening the call for nominations for our 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award. Since 2001, OCPA has presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to a deserving paralegal or member of the legal community at its October Annual Meeting. If you know a deserving paralegal or someone in the legal community who meets the following criteria, please email your nomination to Penny Gutierrez and Jen Clifton by October 9, 2024, at elisepenny@gmail.com and jcisme11@gmail.com. Each nomination should include a brief paragraph explaining why the nominee should be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award including a description of the nominee’s: 1. Dedication to the paralegal profession and to the progress of OCPA; 2. Contributions to the growth and development of the paralegal profession; and 3. Extended community involvement.
